Rarest and most elusive of all the breeds of Drakes, the Blue Drake is not actually blue at all, but gains its name from the shimmering, blue scales that form several stripes on its back. Though smaller than most other Dragon-spawn, Blue Drakes are no less deadly, for their harsh desert homes have turned them into ruthless, cunning hunters. Blue Drakes can run shockingly fast, and in addition to their terrible breath also have access to formidable magic powers. The debased Irekei actually worship these terrible beasts. According to their feeble tales, the blue stripes of these beasts can easily be mistaken at a distance for a glistening oasis, and the Drakes often stand perfectly still, drawing unwary prey to their deaths. I noticed no such thing when I was fortunate enough to actually set eyes on a magnificent specimen during my sojourn to the Burning Lands. I count myself fortunate to have even caught a glimpse of the thing, much less survived its charge!
