The greatest Elvish Channelers and Magi first discovered how to create and call the so-called "elemental spirits" long ago, during the Age of Twilight. Mightiest of these are the Genies, beings composed of Air infused with Spirit. Genies, unlike other Air spirits, tend to maintain a visible form, though how they do so has never been adequately explained. Genies are possessed of incredible strength, keen minds, and immense magical powers, and once made ideal servants for Wizards or Summoners who know the rituals that can bind their wills. During the rise of the Deathless Empire, entire legions of Genies were called upon to rebuild the fabulous cities destroyed by the Dragon. While most of the spirits managed to fulfill the terms of their service, some became trapped on Aerynth when their masters died or cursed them to eternal slavery. Over the ages, these marooned lords of wind and storm have grown bitter and spiteful, and tend to vent their wrath against any who are foolish enough to engage them in conversation.

Deathless Empireの起立における間中に，Genieたちの十全な諸軍団が，Dragonによって破壊された寓意的な諸都市を再建するために呼ばれた．霊たちの大半が，かれらの奉仕における期間を満たすことを取り扱った一方で，いくらかは，かれらの会得者たちが死んだとき，または永遠的な奴隷状態へ呪われたときに，Aerynthで引っ掛けられた．
