Creatures that were once men, Grobolds have been twisted by the taint of Chaos into foul humanoid imps, the least of the Twisted Breeds. Reviled by all the creatures of the world, Grobolds are fierce warriors that live in packs who raid to survive, taking food from those weaker than themselves (usually other Grobolds). Cannibals, Grobolds eat each other and their foes. Grobolds venerate Orcs as a master race, and entire Grobold clans will pledge themselves to the service of an Orc tribe, making war with each other over the privilege of serving these abusive masters. Hateful of all that is beautiful, Grobolds are actually stronger than they look, and are dangerous in large numbers. Despite their physical weaknesses, Grobolds have proven themselves remarkably able to adapt to life anywhere in the World. What many Scholars find most startling is the high degree of physical variation between Grobold "breeds," and that distinct new breeds of Grobolds can develop in as few as four generations. It is suspected that the taint of Chaos lays heavily upon Grobolds, giving them a fluidity of form not seen elsewhere, but few Magi can bring themselves to study these despicable creatures so closely.

物理的な脆弱性にもかかわらず，Groboldたちは，彼ら自身がWorldのどこにおいても，生活で印象的に適合が可能であることを証明している．多くのScholarたちを動揺させているものは，Groboldたちの”諸品種”の間にある物理的な変種の高度な程度であり，そのGroboldたちの新しい諸品種における判然は，わずか少数の四世代で発展できる．
