On my journeys across the Vast Plains I was fortunate enough to encounter one of these fabulous beasts, lurking in the steaming jungles on the far side of the Plains that few folk have ever seen. Larger, fiercer, and stronger than the lions, panthers and other great felines known to the Men and Elves of the West, the claws and teeth of a Tiger can rend flesh, shred armor, and crush bones with ease. The Tiger I encountered slew six of my Human slaves and two of my Warrior Guides as well, and was all the more fearsome because unlike most beasts, it showed no fear of Elves or Men at all. I have heard tales that the degenerate Human savages who call themselves Horwathi worship Tigers as gods, and learned to hunt and kill from watching these remarkable beasts. I have heard that the crazed Amazons also venerate these formidable predators. None of our Magi have ever encountered the Beast Lord of Tigers, but I imagine it would be a fearsome presence indeed.
諸Vast Plainを横切る諸旅で，諸Plainの遥か先の側にあって蒸している諸密林に潜み，少ない俗衆しかこれまで視たことのない，寓話的な獣らの一匹に遭遇するほどわたしは十分に幸運であった．
WestのManらおよびElfらが知る，獅子らと豹ら，他の壮大な猫科動物らよりも，大きくて猛烈で強いTigerの諸爪および諸歯は，肉を引き裂き，鎧を細断し，諸骨を砕くことを気楽にできる．わたしが遭遇したTigerは，Humanの奴隷ら６人とWarrior Guideらの２人を屠ったうえに，大半の獣らに似ず，ElfらまたはManらを全く恐れないことを示したため，なおさら恐ろしいものであった．
わたしは，Horwathiと彼ら自身を呼ぶ逆生成的なHumanの野蛮人らが，Tigerらを諸神として崇拝し，それらの印象的な獣らを注視することから，狩猟と殺害を学んだという昔話を聞いたことがある．わたしは，熱狂的なAmazonらもこれらの手強い捕食者らを崇敬していると，聞いたことがある．
