Twisted, bestial terrors of the night, these hideous creatures are living testament to the flaw that lurks in the blood of Humankind. Some among the Sons of Men, it is said, are afflicted with the curse of skinchanging, a hideous malady that plunges them into frenzy and actually twists their flesh, transforming them into hideous fusions of Man and Wolf. The most insidious of these terrors can shift at will between the shapes of Man, Wolf, and Man-Wolf (called Vargr by the degenerate Invorri of the north). There are some skinchangers, however, whose souls are lost completely to their thirst for blood: they assume their Vargr shape and never leave it. Most among the Sons of Men fear and revile these werewolves, and hunt them wherever they appear, but rumors tell of the Cult of the Beast, an evil group who look to werewolves as the pinnacle of creation. Some believe that the appearance of all skinchangers among the Sons of Men is the vengeance of the Beast Lords, who hope to avenge the Taming by corrupting the All-Father's favorite children from within. Possessed of bestial strength, wicked claws and hideous fangs, werewolves know no pain, and love only slaughter and the taste of blood.
