I see you are no vision sent to tempt me. You are flesh, an intruder in these sands. Once my people ruled these sands, and it was death to walk here without our leave. But now my Virakt wanders, far from our home, while the brutes of Chaos pollute this place with their foulness. I am a prophet to my people, and to me the Dragon has revealed that this is a test, a trial my tribe must endure. And we shall endure it, for we are Irekei, the chosen children of Kryqho'khalin. I linger here, braving the ire of Morloch's Orcs, to ensure that the ancient Pacts are still honored so that the greatest legacies of my tribe shall not be lost.
- What are these Pacts?
I see the shadows of in your eyes. You know so little, you who come here hunting for blood and plunder. Look around you. You see only the desert, yes? Know this: once these lands were a realm of shadow and terror, a tangle of trees and chaos. There the Hateful Once, the Elves, dwelt in their ignorance and perversity. But the waking of the Dragon shook down their hateful towers, and the kindling of the Sun, the Dragon's great gift, scoured these lands clean. My ancestors saw the worth of these gifts, long before they were transformed by the Khalikryst, the transforming flame of our mother Phoenix. They stayed here when the Hateful Ones fled the Sun's light, and worked long and hard to eradicate all traces of the ancient blasphemies of the Elves.
My ancestors found that the Hateful Ones had long ago cast their wills into the Void, ensnaring the Khar'ivor, the spirits of wind, water, and fire. They enslaved these mighty spirits, ripping them from their homes and forcing them into subservience. My Virakt broke the ancient spells and freed the Lords of Fire and Water, the Marid and Efreet. Where the Hateful Ones saw slaves, we saw allies. Where the Hateful Ones wrought bindings, we made pacts, honoring them in return for their teachings and gifts of power. These pacts helped my tribe to prosper, but even the aid of the Khar'ivor could not stop the hordes the Masked God sent to humble us.
The spirits still come to these sands, for here the walls between the worlds are weak. And so I have remained to honor the lords of fire and water, and ensure that the Pacts are renewed and maintained. Kryqho'khalin has revealed to me in his visions that in the Last Days our patience shall be rewarded. Once the Terror of Terrors has consumed all the world in his wrath, the Khar'ivor shall return to the burned world in a great host, to help the Irekei transform the world into a Paradise!

わたしたちの先祖たちは、遠い昔から、複数におよぶ賜物の価値を認識していた。その起源は、かれらが、母である不死鳥という変容の炎こと、ハリークルイストゥ女神によって、変容される前にまでおよぶ。憎悪対象たちが太陽の光から逃走したときに、わたしたちの先祖たちはこの土地に残った。そして、かれらは、エルフたちによる往古の痕跡を根絶するために、長いあいだ懸命に働いた。
