Alas, the fleets and armada of ages past are all gone now, either lying in Lashava's Bower or else reduced to kindling on the strands. Verdan himself died here, victim of an Elvish curse. But we, the descendents of his faithful crew, remained, and have built a haven here for scoundrels, refugees, and all others who Fortune has treated harshly. So be ye welcome! Keep the peace, and ye can stay as long as ye like.
おーい、よそもの。この隠れ場をみつけたようだな。昔、アエアインスの諸海をまたにかけ、もっとも恐れられた海賊、海犬ことヴェルダン・ホーグがいた。ここは、かれがひいきしていた釘穴というわけさ。残念ながら、ヴェルダンの艦隊は遠い昔に失われた。そして、かれの諸船は、海底ことラシャヴァ居所で横たわっているか、あるいはここで座礁したままだ。
ヴェルダンは、エルフの呪いによりここで死んだ。だが、ヴェルダンに忠実だった船員たちと、かれらの子孫であるおれたちは、ここにとどまった。そして、悪人たちと難民たちだけでなく、現代で、運命に苦しめられている人びと全員のために、この隠れ場を建てた。だから、おまえのことも歓迎しよう。揉め事をおこさないなら、好きなだけここにいていいぞ。
