You stand in Erkeng Hold, stranger! All who bring no strife with them are welcome here. In the time of Hjallmar's great war between the Invorri tribes against the Ten Kingdoms, Northman chieftain Egil Skullbreaker founded Erkeng as a rearguard stronghold against the Jotun and beast-kin. Wars and strife have swept away too many of the old strongholds, but Erkeng still stands, giving sanctuary from the bite of winter and the blades of fell beasts.
見知らぬ人よ、あなたはアーケン砦にいます。争いをもちこまないのであれば、誰でも歓迎しましょう。昔、ヤルマはインヴォア人の諸氏族を引き連れ、十王国との大規模な戦争をおこしました。そのさなかに、北方人の氏族長、イーギル・スカルブレイカーは、ヨトゥンたちと人獣に対抗しようとしました。こうして、大軍勢の背後に、アーケン砦が建設されたのです。
戦争と闘争はおおくの古い砦を破壊しました。しかし、アーケン砦はまだ存在しており、厳しい冬と怪物たちを避けられる、安全な拠点として開放されています。
