Of all the legacies of the War of the Scourge, surely the most hideous and detestable is the Daelanc ("jaw head" in the High Tongue), or "Plague Gorgers" as the commoners call them. Once believed to be some hideous form of Undead, their true nature is far more terrible. During the great war against Chaos, one of the Dark Lords (exactly which is unclear) released a hideous plague upon the face of Aerynth, which still lingers to this day. Victims of this dreaded disease are wracked with fever and madness, and finally the taint of chaos deforms their very bodies: the hands and feet twist into huge deformed claws, the arms lengthen, and the head swells with boils and finally bursts, leaving a huge, fanged maw where the base of the victim's neck once lay. Mindless and savage, these hideous creatures seem to have an unquenchable hunger for raw flesh, giving rise to their vulgar name. Packs of these headless beasts roam the wild, attacking and devouring every living thing in their path.

無心的かつ未開的であるこれらの醜怪な創造物は，未加工的な肉への消化不可的な飢えをもっているように視え，かれらの低俗な名前に上昇を与えている．これらの無頭的な獣たちの諸獣群は原生林を流浪し，かれらの進路で全部の生物へ攻撃と食べ尽くしをしている．
