October 1st, 1999 At this point, we released a set of screen shots with the intention of showing off both our character art and some nice interiors shots.
Things to notice -- this was the first appearance of a non-human figure (the dwarven warrior), dynamic lighting within the cave, spell effects (the flamewall), Runegates (for transport between worlds), and the Runestone Interface (which can be hidden, partially faded, and moved around the desktop.)
A wireframe image of the viking shot was also provided, to give people a "behind the scenes" look at one of the images.*3
